Cultural Competency and Diversity Plan
1. Cultural and linguistic competency relative to the needs of the persons served.
a. Goal: A2C will obtain a minimum of 2 additional clinicians who are culturally and linguistically competent in the Latino culture by 12/31/2011.
i. Objective: A2C will advertise for qualified clinicians through local Latino media outlets by 12/31/2011.
ii. A2C will offer bonus payments to all personnel for the successful recruitment of multi-lingual staff/contractors through 12/31/2011.
iii. A2C will offer collateral materials, such as brochures, in both English and Spanish.
2. Reflects the culture of the persons served
a. A2C will participate in a minimum of 10 diverse community events by 12/31/2011.
i. A2C will participate in a minimum of 3 events in the Latino community by 12/31/2011.
ii. A2C will participate in the Oklahoma City Gay and Lesbian Pride Festival in June 2011.
iii. A2C will participate in a minimum of 3 events for older Oklahomans by 12/31/2011.
iv. A2C will participate in a minimum of 3 events for children by 12/31/2011.
b. A2C will provide training in cultural competency and diversity to all staff and contractors at least annually.
c. A2C will host a minimum of one event during 2011 that highlights and celebrates the cultural diversity of its workforce and community.
3. A2C will actively recruitment of persons who are representative of the specific cultures the organization serves for:
a. Leadership positions
b. Management positions
c. Direct service positions
d. Support service positions
